Macario VITALIS around 1950


Upon his arrival in Paris in August 1925, VITALIS settled like many artists in Montmartre. His style is in line with the “School of Paris”, in a figurative mode. He put forward his great qualities as a draftsman, but these were very difficult years financially. VITALIS joined the cubist group of the “Section d’Or” in Puteaux in 1935-1936, where his artistic career would develop. However, at the end of 1941, he was interned by the Germans in a prison camp in Compiègne for more than two years, until August 1944.
